ShotBlocker versus cryotherapy for reducing pain and anxiety associated with subcutaneous injection

Abstract Objective To determine and compare the abilities of ShotBlocker cryotherapy for reducing pain anxiety associated with subcutaneous injections. Subcutaneous injection has been used excessively continuous, low-dose administration drugs. Considering that these drugs may require prolonged administration, new devices methods are needed to decrease repeated drug Methods A quasi-experimental study design on a purposive sample 54 patients comprised both sexes utilized. The subjects were divided into 2 equal groups (group 1, ShotBlocker; group 2, cryotherapy), 3 tools used, namely socio-demographic medical data sheet, Verbal Descriptor Scale measuring pain, Beck Anxiety Inventory. Results significant reduction in mean scores was observed after using techniques during injection. In addition, exhibited significantly lower compared group. Conclusions Our findings revealed effective non-pharmacological levels
